Triwa

Triathlon race site is 83km.

Food and beverage outlets will be available throughout the race weekend. These will be located near the race finish line at the campsite.

Toilet and shower facilities are available at Lumleys Hill and Captain Logan campsite areas.

Camping is available at the Captain Logan campsite area. This area has toilet and shower facilities, free bbqs and a large multipurpose shelter for group get togethers. Campsites can only be booked through the race entry portal.

Fun Run

Registration opens: 10am at Lumleys Hill transition area.

Race start: 11am

Two distances are available: 3km and 6km

Race day entries ARE allowed for the Fun Run.

This will be a ‘hand timed’ event not ‘chip timed’

3km Fun Run

1 loop on bitumen of a slightly undulating course commencing at Lumleys Hill campsite.

6km Fun Run

1 loop on bitumen of a moderately undulating course commencing at Lumleys Hill campsite. The 6km Fun Run takes in Captain Logan and Logans Inlet camping areas.

Toilet facilities are available at transition and also at each of the camping areas on the course.

Water stations will be located on course and at the finish area serving water and Endura sports drink.
Dam Swims

1pm start

Two distances are available: 750m and 1500m.

All swims start at Lumleys Hill campsite area.

Water safety personnel will be in kayaks and other water craft to ensure participant safety.

Water and Endura sports drink will be available at the finish.

 

Active Kids Triathlon

2pm start

Waves are organised by age groups and gender.

The race is multi-loop for older children. The bike and run both take place on closed roads. Course marshalls will be positioned around the course to assist and encourage children throughout the event.

All participants in the Active Kids Triathlon receive a specially minted finishers medal AND an Active Kids Triathlon cap.

This is a participation only event. No ‘placings’ are given. This event is not professionally timed, however participants are welcome to time their own race using their watch.

Race distances:

6-9 years – 100m swim, 3km bike, 500m run.

10-11 years – 200m swim, 5km bike, 1km run.

12-13 years – 200m swim, 6km bike, 2km run.
Active First Timers

Designed for high school students or adults wanting to have a go at their first triathlon. The course is the same as that for the 12-13 years: 200m swim, 6km bike, 2km run.

The race is multi-loop. The bike and run both take place on closed roads. Course marshalls will be positioned around the course to assist and encourage children throughout the event. All participants in the Active Kids First Timers event receive a specially minted finishers medal.

This is a participation only event. No ‘placings’ are given. This event is not professionally timed, however participants are welcome to time their own race using their watch.

Olympic Distance Triathlon

Swim: Point to point swim in the Wivenhoe Dam. 2 loops totalling 1500m. The swim WILL be a wetsuit permitted swim.

Bike: 4 x 10km loops from transition in Lumleys Hill campsite to Hay Road return. All of the bike course is on closed sealed roads. There is one cattle grid which will be covered to ensure cyclist safety. The bike course is slightly undulating.

Run: 10km which is made up of 2 loops – of 6km and 4km. Participants do not return to the transition precinct between the first and second loops. The course is mixed terrain with the first and last 1km being on grass. The run course takes in the three campsite areas and is undulating. The run course is partially shaded. Toilet facilities are available on the run course at each of the campsite areas.

Start time: first wave commences at 8.00am

Wave start times will be organised by age groups and will be released at registration.

An OPEN category is available for those highly competitive athletes who wish to compete for prize money.

‘Primes’ are on offer for the fastest male AND female in each leg: swim, bike, run.
Short Course Triathlon (750/20/5)
