What is the NTID Program
National Talent ID & Development is where talented athletes may be showing an interest in moving across to the sport of triathlon .
Or it also may be where an existing talented young triathlete has reassessed their goals & decided to be more focused .
This can be in metro or regional areas
Such athletes are encouraged & assisted by a variety of initiatives.
- Access to additional coaching support – both for the athlete (and local coach if regional )
- Further access to areas such as technical analysis/ nutritional advice/school holiday development camps /training programes
The NTID program has a number of evaluation factors to determine any appropriate support including:
- Results from competition
- Various tests relating to triathlon specific areas – swimming time trial or a 3km – 5km run
- Demonstrated ability to improve/achieve goals
- Previous sports background
- Current age is between 14 -18yo
- Mental strength abilities for triathlon (training for 3 sports in one )
For further information on any of the above NTID areas please contact development@triathlonwa.asn.au
