TriathlonWA is a supporter of the ongoing partipation in Schools of Triathlon as a sport

This support includes:

The Active After Schools program - For Primary Schools . A Federal program that encourages kids at primary school age to spend 2 sessions a week for a 7 week block learning to play,participate and enjoy the sport. This program is run as a partnership between local club Triathlon Coaches & primary schools www.ausport.gov.au/aasc

TRYstars - For those schools with no triathlon program involvements or PE units your nearest local triathlon club can offer a TRYstar or Junior program as alternatives for the students . Contact your closest triathlon club for some more details www.triwa.org.au click on the “club tab”

Triathlon WA School Ambassador Program – This involves a school visit to Secondary Schools by some of our local WA Elite Athltes who talk about healthy lifestyles, training, life balances of work -study -training and other areas such as diet-skills- mental focus. TWA have 2 x Ambassadors that can be booked via email development@triathlonwa.asn.au

School Sport WA – Coaches from TriathlonWA actively support the State team with training camps/skills sessions and workshops for a period of time prior to their travel to National Championships. These coaching sessions assist in bringing their Triathlon skills to higher levels for the athlete preparation in representing the State www.schoolsportwa.com.au then click on main sports dropdown/triathlon

Each year the WA Schools State Triathlon Team is selected . The selection races for the team are based on the State Schools Triathlon Event at Champion Lakes in November & various other TWA triathlons. Full details can be found on the School Sports WA website. Note that schools racing in triathlons has limits on bike gearing, tribars and sometimes race distance changes.

In 2012 the National School Championships will be held in Busselton WA beginning 2nd April onwards 

National Talent ID and Development - From the schools qualifying for Triathlons and additional coaching sessions – a number of triathletes can be asked to try out for the TWA Triathlon Excellence program (TEP) . This program is the first step in developng Junior Athletes on an Olympic Pathway and has the status of a being part of the National Triathlon Australia Junior High Performance Program and supported by TWA. developnment@triathlonwa.asn.au

The next step after TEP is a progression by individual successes to the newly formed TA National Triathlon Academy in Perth.
